Hey! Hey! Nine votes!
Which one of y'all put down Davis?! Haha! I did some archaeological work on their campus the summer before Ghana and I really liked what I saw. But there ain't no beaches!
Thats about all I got for y'all tonight (I'm sure you are all bummed out). I see Anna every now and again, but we pretend like we don't see each other. In a sense, we are strangers. I don't know who she is. I just hope that every once in a while she will stop for a second and think about Ghana.
I may be accused of throwing some low blows, and I do feel remorse about all of them. Weird how things end up.
I have learned a lot about myself over the past two years, and I think its safe to say that I am a decent person. The kids at BBBS adore me. The people at the homeless shelter can trust me. My family is ecstatic to have me in their lives. I am a damned good student and I have dreams and plans for the future.
I am living the dream. Thanks Anna. Again, for what its worth...
Also, here is a great tribute to Michael from my mother. I noticed how my picture was put above the praise he received about being able to take the mean taunts that "other people" threw his way his whole life. I regret few things in my life, but one of them is the way that I treated my brother and sisters (the other is the way I have treated Anna). I still don't know how to make it up to them. Being sober is not enough. In fact, thats terrible if you think about it. How can I be a better brother? A better son?
I dunno, but check this out...

The placement of pictures and comments was not intentional. I was actually thinking of his experiences at school when I wrote that.
I don't know if thinking of it in terms of "making it up to them" is as helpful to your quest as apologizing and making sure it's different from now on.
It makes me sad to read your writings about Anna. Where did you plant the avocado tree?
Something to think about - you could say hello next time you see her - you don't have to stop and talk, just acknowledge her out of respect for everything you have become because of her love and encouragement. You might feel better.
I admit. It is I who keeps voting for Davis. That's because I don't know much about the other U's. (or maybe I know too much) It is the underdog thingy, I guess.
On to more important things. You are a great son. Don't think anything less. Keep on studying and go to the University of your choice. It is your life and you are learning to share it and grow. What a blessing.
Cheers!
